Baby Hammock Installation

Please read the following instructions and installation information carefully so your baby is always kept safe.

Note to consider before installing:

  • Ensure that chains are high enough so that other children or objects cannot swing or reach into hammock, or undo domes.
  • This is NOT a baby swing, although it has been designed to swing gently for baby’s comfort.
  • Ensure baby has a clear space around where hammock is hung, so that baby does not bang against any objects eg. walls and doors.
  • DO NOT hang hammock in doorway or closer than one metre to a wall. The hammock will block a doorway and baby may get knocked on side of door ie. walls and doors.
  • Please ensure baby hammock is drilled securely into ceiling joist.
  • Domes of hammock should always be fastened.

PARTS SUPPLIED WITH HAMMOCK:

  • 2 x hooks
  • 1 x chain
  • 1 x wooden separator
  • 1 x hammock and ring
  • 1 x mattress
  • 1 x spring
  • 1 x spring cover
  • 1 x spring clip

How to install your Baby Hammock

STEP ONE:
Remove all parts from plastic protector bags.
Keep all plastic away from children.

Check that all parts are included (see check list above). If any parts are missing, please contact The Miyo Baby Hammock Co immediately. DO NOT INSTALL until you have all parts.

STEP TWO:
Using a 6mm drill bit drill hole into ceiling joists (solid timber ceiling frame not ceiling lining eg. plasterboard).

Screw hook into hole ensuring whole length of screw thread is in timber.

PLEASE ENSURE THAT THE HAMMOCK IS DRILLED INTO CEILING JOISTS.
FAILURE TO FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS BODILY HARM.

STEP THREE:
Put spring clip on bottom end of covered spring opposite end to chain.

(Spring cover and spring and chain should already be assembled. If not contact sarah@babyhammock.co.nz for assistance.)

STEP FOUR:
Hang chain from hook using the chain to adjust to the height you want.
STEP FIVE:
Once chain, spring and spring clip are hanging, take body of hammock and hang domes facing you. Clip the spring clip onto circle ring of hammock.

STEP SIX:
Place mattress into body of hammock. Ensure that the top of the mattress is placed by the top seam, inside the body of the hammock. This enures that baby is in the correct position each time your baby is placed in the hammock.

STEP SEVEN:
